Determination to live fully cannot give way to the challenges that come with a Disability: When it is said in just a Few words it reaches far
My name is Diana Mwikali, I am 25, I trained in graphic
designing and currently working on a TV program coming soon.
I'm the 1st born in a family of 3girls, my mom has raised us
single handedly. I have never enjoyed the love of a dad even a single day.
My beauty keeps me going every day, I love the woman I see
in the mirror every day and each morning is a new beginning in some aspects and
a continuing in many other aspects of my life. At times when I walk in the
streets during my side hustle, I hear people whisper to each other “she is such
a beauty” I turn back and smile. That really gives me the drive to move on.
What motivates me: growing up, I had to remind myself that
there are things I can't do and I had to work towards my strengths. I hate
self-pity. At times I notice people admire my beauty more than my disability
and that is true to me because my disability does not define me, it is just a
way of showing that life is diverse.
Being abled differently doesn't deter me from enjoying life.
I enjoy every aspect of life like any other person in the society. My spiritual
father Pastor Alison John and my mom Asumpta Musyimi have been of much
inspiration in my life. I salute them.
